Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Ethan Cole

I am the creator and editor behind Wrist Chronicles. My fascination with wristwatches began when I received my first automatic watch as a teenager. What started as simple curiosity quickly became a lifelong interest in horology — the art and science of timekeeping.

Over the past decade, I have explored everything from accessible everyday watches to mechanical pieces and established Swiss brands. Along the way, I learned that every watch communicates something through its movement, materials, proportions and design.

I created Wrist Chronicles to share that experience in a clear and practical way. My goal is not to tell readers which watch is the most expensive or fashionable. It is to help them understand which watch genuinely suits their needs, personal style and daily life.

What Guides Us

Watch advice built around real people

A useful watch guide should explain the important differences, respect different budgets and help the reader make a confident decision without unnecessary jargon.

01

Clarity before complexity

Movements, materials and specifications are explained in plain language so that both new buyers and experienced enthusiasts can use our guides.

02

Style with practical purpose

A watch has to look right, but it also has to fit the wearer’s wrist, routine, comfort expectations and intended use.

03

Respect for every budget

A meaningful watch does not have to be expensive. We cover accessible, mid-range and luxury options without treating price as the only measure of quality.

Our Editorial Process

How our watch guides are created

Every guide begins with a real buying question. We examine the details that matter, compare suitable options and turn that research into practical recommendations.

01

Understanding the buyer

We identify who the watch is for, how it will be worn and which features are genuinely useful.

02

Researching the important details

Movement, dimensions, materials, water resistance, comfort, design and long-term value are considered.

03

Comparing realistic choices

Watches are evaluated against alternatives in the same category and price range rather than in isolation.

04

Reviewing and updating

Guides are revisited as products, availability and the watch market change.

Beyond Specifications

A lasting interest in watches and the people behind them

Some of the most interesting watches are not found in polished advertising campaigns. They appear in small independent stores, vintage displays, family collections and conversations between people who have spent years learning the details of their craft.

Vintage watch hunting remains one of my favorite ways to learn. Older pieces reveal how design, technology and expectations have changed over time. They also remind us that the value of a watch is often connected to its history, not simply its original price.

That perspective influences Wrist Chronicles. We look at watches as objects meant to be worn, experienced and remembered — not merely compared on a specification sheet.

A Personal Perspective

A watch should feel like it belongs on your wrist

For me, a watch is more than a way to tell time. It can be a daily companion, a reflection of personal taste, a useful tool or a reminder of an important moment.

The right watch does not need to impress everyone. It needs to feel comfortable, dependable and meaningful to the person wearing it.

Whether you are choosing your first watch, searching for a reliable everyday model or adding something distinctive to an established collection, Wrist Chronicles is here to help you understand your options.

“Every watch deserves to be understood, not just worn.”
